Daniel Zang, Ph.D., J.D.

Daniel is an accomplished attorney with a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and a distinguished background at the intersection of science, law, and business. His legal expertise includes commercial transactions, corporate and licensing law, intellectual property, and FDA regulatory matters. Before founding Kiyeon Law, he served as CEO of a biotechnology firm, practiced at AM 100 law firms, and conducted scientific research at the National Institutes of Health. Daniel is admitted to practice in Washington, D.C., and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Brian Lathrop, Ph.D., J.D.
Partner
With over 20 years of experience in patent prosecution, Brian brings deep insight and seasoned judgment to the firm. Before joining the team, he held positions at leading AM 100 law firms and served as a Patent Examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Although he retired from active legal practice in 2022, Brian continues to contribute to the firm in an advisory capacity. He remains admitted to the Virginia Bar and registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Robert Seabold, Ph.D., J.D.
Partner
Robert brings more than two decades of experience in patent litigation and corporate law, with a focused expertise in ANDA litigation, bankruptcy, and complex corporate matters. Prior to joining the firm, he built his legal acumen at prominent AM 100 law firms. Robert holds a doctoral degree from Johns Hopkins University and is admitted to the Maryland Bar as well as the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Hart Roemer, J.D.
Of Counsel
Hart has three decades of experience in fair trade and antitrust law. He began his legal career as an antitrust trial attorney at the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Competition, focusing on oil company mergers. He later served as Assistant Attorney General in the Antitrust Division of the Maryland Attorney General’s Office. Hart played a significant role as Maryland’s representative in the landmark multi-state lawsuit against Microsoft, in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Justice. Hart earned his LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center and is admitted to the Maryland bar.

Harriet Kamendi, PhD, DABT, RAC
Senior Advisor
Harriet is a seasoned regulatory expert. She is skilled in developing regulatory strategies, conducting reguatory due diligence, and providing nonclinical development strategies. Harriet’s career includes positions as a risk assessment scientist at AstraZeneca and Emergent BioSolutions, as well as Director of Toxicology at American Preclinical Services (now part of NAMSA). She holds regulatory affairs certifications for both U.S. and global markets and is a board-certified toxicologist.

Carlos Montano, Ph.D.

Carlos has over 30 years of experience in health administration and clinical managements. Previously, Carlos worked for many years at a United Nations agency, running large scale clinical programs and public health initiatives. Carlos received his academic training at Cambridge University and the University of Arizona.

Alvaro Rivera, M.D., MPH, MBA
Senior Advisor
Alvaro is a distinguished epidemiologist and entrepreneur. His experience includes serving as a Fogarty Research Fellow, researcher at a public health NGO, and co-founder of Bitmec, a startup dedicated to improving access to high-quality medical care through mobile technology. Alvaro earned his degrees from Tel Aviv University and University of Michigan.
